New Camera, New me

Hey everyone.

Iv had my Canon 350D for a good while now and iv taken some shots that I’m pretty proud of. But the time had come to purchase a new camera and step up and see what I could achieve.

I purchased the Canon 40D which I have to say is a massive improvement which shouldn’t of came as such a surprise as every review said the same. But I wasn’t quit ready for the change in my photographs or my style difference while using the new camera.

I have found myself using the creative side of the mode dial so much more now in fact I think I have only used full auto for one shot of a swan.

The upgrade has also encouraged me to get out there an experiment. The shots of the Reservoir and the Temple were taken in the early hours of the morning and I have to say that the new controls on the 40D are helping heaps.

I have also noticed a influx in comments and page views on Deviant Art due to the photo quality. I am always pleased to hear any views you have regarding my photos.

I am Sam, I am 25 and living in Lockerbie, Scotland.

I have enjoyed my photography and often try and get a perspective that may not be the norm. I am still learning as most amateur photographers have figured out were never stop learning new things to do with our cameras.

I use a Canon Eos 40D but a lot of my earlier shots were taken using the Canon Eos 350D so a bit of a leap.

Thanks Gordon, your gallery put mine to shame but it just makes me want to work harder to achive similar shots.

Iv got a couple nice ones of the Clocktower and even one or two from the top. Are you the chap that owns Pro Tech on the high street with the lovly photos in the window?
